A Great Day in Aggieland

There is no where else I would have rather been this past Saturday than in College Station. I got to help my littlest sister celebrate her 20th birthday, and also got to sit with my parents & Kyle and Ali for the football game. It was a great day! I am so lucky that Tori goes to school at my alma mater and that it is only an hour and 45 minutes away. And good game Ags (usually we jinked you and you lose games you should win when we come watch).

We brought binoculars in preparation for our 3rd deck of the zone tickets. Bailey was having fun as we walked around campus.

We got on campus right in time to see Ms Reveille marching into the stadium.

And with a little sprinting ahead Bailey even got the opportunity to pet her!

Then it was off to the kid's zone to get some energy out.

And finally we found our way to the front of Kyle field to head into the game.

One group shot before Tori was off to her seat and we were off to ours.

Happy Birthday Tori!

And as soon as we got through the ticket gate we ran into Kyle and Ali, which was a sweet surprise since we didn't ride together.

The helicopter flyover.

Our view of the game.

The jumbo tron announcement that Johnny Football broke some NCAA rushing record. Can you say Heisman???

One of Ali & I.

This is the point at which all Aggies and Aggie fans say together with the announcer, "Now forming at the North end of Kyle Field- the nationally famous fightin' Texas Aggie band."

It was Military Appreciation Game and the whole Corps of Cadets formed the block T.

After half-time we headed down to the "grassy knoll area", which is grassy, but is not a knoll and not at all what my mom pictured. It was still good for Bailey getting out her wiggles.

This was us on our way over there. Bailey is quite silly taking pictures these days.

Once there, I had to get a picture of where we were sitting- Do you see the yellow arrow WAY UP THERE on the right?

 Tori with her crew.

Someone loves her Gigi!

A silly one of her and Gigi.

One of me & Luke

Some tired feet- Tori, Bailey, &me.

This was our view of the game post half-time and a picture of the final score.

Since we were field level we got to see Johnny Manziel #2 leave the stadium.

Luke had to put me on his shoulders to get that picture.

One of the Mezgers.

And a huge thanks to Nana who was back in Austin with Blake and Blair. I took this when we were dropping them off and Bailey wanted in too.

Blair's Bee Day Party

We had a super simple cake & ice cream party for Blair on Friday night to celebrate her birthday.

One of the birthday girl pre-party.
I totally went with the bee theme so I could use things from Halloween more than once.

One fun thing we did new this year was Blair gave Bailey and Blake bee shirts to wear at her party since Blair had a new bee shirt. Bailey LOVED it and it helped with any jealousy issues. Didn't get a pictures of Bailey or Blake in their shirts, but this is what they looked like.

A few of the decorations-

A cute banner thanks to etsy.

Some of our favorite pictures of her from her first year. In order from bottom left to bottom right going up, down, up, down, then up to the next row.

What kind of cake does a bee party need? A honey cake!

And these were for the guests.

So I completely forgot to account for how dark it would be in the evening after the time change, so our backyard party got changed into an indoor party. Thanks to some popcorn and Dreamwork's Bee Movie the kids were entertained!

About to sing happy birthday with my candle blowing helpers on either side. Most all the kids got to help Blair blow out her candle, because once you let one kid blow out the candle you have to let them all help.

Watch the progression of her eating the cake-

Hummmmm, what's this? A toy?

I don't like sticky hands.

Okay, I will have just a nibble.

It's mine! Back away!

Nana holding on tight to her littlest grandbaby.

Man did that last year fly by! Trying my best to soak up these little ones while they are little.

 Happy Bee Day Blair!

Happy Birthday Blair

It's hard to believe that this was you one year ago.

You have been such a sweet addition to our family and we have loved watching you grow into those cheeks.

Happy birthday Blairsy!

Bailey's First Joke

We have endured a year and a half of nonsense jokes, so I rejoice to announce that Bailey knows a real joke! It's not my favorite joke, but it has a punchline and makes sense.

What does the hotdog say after he won the race? He was the "weiner".

Act surprised if she hasn't already told you. : )

Garner State Park

This past weekend the Hill Country Camping Society initiated some new members as we headed out to Garner State Park for our Fall camp out.

Those two pictures pretty much sum up our trip, but if you know me, then you know I took more pictures...

The minivan packed down.

An inside view.

Arrival at the park.

These two boys were our set up team.

This was maybe one of the best things I packed as it kept Blair off the ground alot of the time, since she isn't walking all the time and everything still goes in her mouth. Yes it was windy! There was a fine layer of dirt over everything that went camping with us.

The view from our tent the first night.

We ended up being at Garner at the same time as our good friends the Baileys.

Arrival of the Turkeydogs.

My boys.

Hiking. It was hard work, but worth the view up top.

Just follow the yellow footstep...

We had naptime on the move and she was almost asleep.

This is what a picnic lunch looks like with 19 Adults and 25 Kids.

Family Shot.

We made it!

The view.

A shoe fatality.

Garner really is one of the most beautiful places I have been in Texas.

Here are some pictures around camp-

Owen and Blake had so much fun pretending to carry one another in this.

The boys.

Bailey's camping friend Ellie.

Blair and Lily stuck pretty close to each other.

Carlos & Blair.

Blair with daddy.

The youngest camper with his daddy.

Roastin' Marshmallows.

Bailey in a tree. Does that surprise anyone?

The guys listening to the Aggies BTHO Alabama. Classes '98- '04 represented as well as future class of 2034- Bowen & Blair. WHOOP!!!

The bicycle gang.

They don't stay still for long.

Exploring the dock and the paddle boats, while doing a little fishing.

These three boys had fun!

This was Blair's first overnight campout and she did great. LOTS of smiles from this almost one year old.

The cold Frio river was no deterrent for Bailey who jumped right in.

Bailey had SO much fun evidenced by that smile. We don't always get to see it.

And this was my paddleboat guide who was in heaven as evidenced by his smile.

At a scenic overlook.

Pulling off a campout of this magnitude is no small feat, but we walked away having a great time and that is mostly due to good company! Good company makes sleepless nights followed by early mornings manageable and gave me patience when the check in line was long. Thank you HCCS, looking forward to the Spring campout!
