Although I totally have not figured out how to balance everything right now with all the transitions, I do think I could get used to it if it looked like yesterday. Luke took off work at 2:30 and took the big kids dove hunting! The only way that happened was because Bailey just started her Fall Break so I could postpone homeschool homework, also because Bailey doesn't go to school on Fridays because they were not in bed until after 9:30 pm, AND because of Luke's ability to take off.
Here they are ready to go!
Sweet Blair kept looking at me and grabbing her shirt as they were getting ready, so I got one of Blake's old camo shirts to put on her even though she just stayed home and had mommy time yesterday.
Yep, I had an afternoon/evening with just one kiddo. I took advantage of naptime to knock out a bunch of to-dos and then I got to just be mommy to #3. Ms. Piggy tales had me all over the back yard and having tea in the playroom and doing chalk in the front yard. It was such a sweet time that I need to remember to just wear my mommy hat more and have more one-on-one time with Blair.
Luke sent me this and said that the kids had a ball! He said they were the best bird dogs he ever had and that Bailey was FASCINATED with the dead birds. Being that I am not the hunter of the family and that I just heard that Bailey was playing with dead birds, I definitely asked as a follow up question, "Did they wash their hands afterwards?" and he said "of course". Oh, and to top it off Luke and the kids ran into Luke's dad and got some grandpa time!
And if you read a post I did this summer, then you know that I love to check on my sleeping babies, especially when I don't get to put them to bed and look how I found Blake this morning. A boy with his gun!
I wonder when Luke will want to take the kids hunting again???
