All in the Life of Bailey

There isn't too much to update for Bailey, except that she can do a cart-wheel! Thank you Gigi! Bailey had been working for a couple of weeks in gymnastic and couldn't do one. My mom comes down and gives her some directions and viola! Magic!

This was 2 months ago & was her second time ever to do one.

And we just finished the Spring session at gymnastics and they had a show off time.

  Star Wars Playdate

A couple of weeks ago I found out that some Star Wars characters were going to be in town at a toy shop, so Bailey had a playdate with Mia from school and Owen. So with light sabers in hand they were off to meet R2D2, storm troopers, and more!

The Austin Aquarium

One day we finished homeschool early and went to the Austin Aquarium. Bailey LOVED it because there was lots to touch!

Lunch with Emmy

I am sad we didn't start doing this earlier in the year, but we have started eating lunch with Emmy once a month. It's so fun because these two are such good friends and I just sit back and watch.

One funny story: We usually pick up Chick fil A as a treat, but on the way there Bailey ask if next time we can get one of the trays from the cafeteria instead. : )

Only a month more of school and we are done with Kindergarten!?!?!? Where does the time go?

Spring is Here!

What else says spring like baby birds and gardens growing? And we have both!

 Bailey's Birdhouse

For Bailey's birthday back in September she ask for a birdhouse, which when she got she promptly painted & then put in her tree. Then she waited AND waited AND waited for a bird to make it's nest. After a couple of months she decided that the hole must be too small, so she had Luke cut a bigger hole (that part at the top of the circle) just to make sure. Oh and the wire around it is holding it together after it fell. Anyways, after a couple more months she decided that the bird must not like the color and was about to get it down to re-paint when she looked in and saw a sparrow! She was ECSTATIC! What was even neater was that it laid 5 eggs and we now have baby birds to check on every day.

 

Our Garden

One of Luke's hobbies is gardening. This is our fifth year to have a garden and tenth year to grow vegetables. Here's some of what we have growing-

From the kid's garden- watermelon. 

Last year Luke built them their own raised bed and they get to pick what they plant. Also growing in their garden is lettuce and carrots.

We are loving this cooler spring and hoping it means a cooler summer, so that our garden survives.

Easter

It was our year to be in Austin for Easter and I am going to try to sum up all our in town Easter events in this post. 

This was Blake and Blair all ready for their preschool egg hunt.

Next was lunch & egg hunting with the Risingers on Saturday for Johns' birthday. Plus, there were balloons, a bouncey house and face painting!

Happy 4th (not 2nd) birthday John-John! So, after a night of not alot of sleep I wrote a note on a book we were giving John and I accidentally Happy 2nd birthday. Ooops! And that is not even my first blooper lately.

 

 

 

Blake was not sure what he thought about being a bunny.

Funny story- As soon as Blake got his face painted we were going to leave, but while we were taking pictures Blair snuck over to the face painter when she thought no one was looking and had hers painted too. She cried big tears when we had to clean it off for naptime.

That night we took Franny with us to church.

The Assuntos Brunch

Sunday morning Ryan read to the kids about the Resurrection and then explained about the best eggs to find, which are the empty ones because they remind us Jesus's tomb was empty.

And then it was egg hunting & dinner at Franny's house that night with the Mezger cousins.

Franny had the older four kids over on Friday to dye the eggs and then Luke, Kyle, and Grandpa Robert hid them the day of. 

And they are off...
