Rodeo Days, Part 2

After the warm-up at preschool, we headed out to the Austin Rodeo with the Kuykendalls for the real rodeo. It was so fun for the kids and I am so glad Danielle was there to help wrangle our crew. Speaking of crew, here they are

Our first adventure- the petting zoo, which was crazy because hundreds of school kids had just showed up. Not sure if that was because it was the second-to-last day of the rodeo or because it was Friday or just random that they all came on this day, but it was PACKED!

After the petting zoo, we did pony rides.

Then we went to see the show animals and found some that were sponsored by Texas A&M - whoop!

Pig races were next and Bailey was picked to be the section representative and had the "Justin Beboar" pig won then she would have won a prize. Justin Beboar did not win, but it was still very fun!

Then our section was chosen to represent the Aggie pig and we narrowly lost to UT right at the end- boo!

Next we headed over to the carnival rides and this super super tall slide. The guy running it let the kids go 2 or 3 times more than what we paid for, which was really nice.

That's Blake and Weston up there.

On to the ferris wheel.

And then on to the tractors.

Last of all, I let Bailey do the trampoline, which she has been dying to do and thankfully by this time the rodeo was dead and she got to go for an extra long time.

The guy running it even taught her how to do flips and by the end she was doing double flips!

It was a super fun day in which kids napped SO well afterwards and the only thing I would change is that Blake got sick that night, meaning he got a stomach bug (yes, another one). I am learning to just be thankful for the healthy days and being okay with the fact that we are just super susceptible to stomach bugs. : (

Spring Camping

It was time once again to meet up with all the Hill Country Campers for some spring camping. We headed back to Enchanted Rock for a 2 nighter like we did last spring and Kyle & Ali again headed this one up with Trey Tull cooking & organizing some gourmet meals. Highlights for this trip included hiking to the top of the rock, cave exploration, finding water to cool off, hanging around the campfire, and as always just being with good friends.

Blue doing a little relaxing

Our backyard view from the tent

Off exploring

Love these three.

Poor Blair. Between the unlevel ground & the gravel granite (and Blake might have helped with one) she looked pretty bad by the end of the trip.

But she had alot of fun and was super busy!

Sleeping arrangements.

Cousins walking Blue.

Off to climb E Rock.

Pausing for a break for little legs.

Summit!

Time to explore the cave!

I did not realize how hot it was going to be or how little shade we would have, so we followed everyone to the creek.

A few of the adults.

The Peschkas.

Tim & Danielle

Katie & Kara.

The kids loved catching baby frogs. Some of them lived...

Bowen making a splash.

Micah briefly pausing.

This is how tired Blair was, she just layed down in the sand.

Just hanging out at the campsite.

Blair and David.

Construction time for Weston.

Kara, Danielle, Katie, and I.

MARSHMALLOW TIME!

I thought this was so sweet.

Until next time...
