Can You Guess What We Did?

It's something that we love to do! I will give you some hints as I describe what we did last weekend.

First of all to get to this place we had to drive over this road. Can you even see a road? It was and is covered with a few inches of water all the time.

Then we arrived at the #2 cabin.

Once we were unpacked the fun started. All 28 adults and 37 kids started showing up!!! Here are some of the highlights.

 And the next day, Luke and I took B & Emmy canoeing.

 We went on lots of walks and had many adventures.

I don't have a picture of this, but if you ask Bailey her favorite part of the weekend, she would tell you it was eating marshmallows. Thanks to Ali we had a secret stash.

For entertainment we even got to go to a play.

Here are the girls that put on the show taking a bow. They did a really good job of being creative and also not letting any 1-3 years who wondered out there distract them.

No shoes!

No shoes again. This picture that was taken probably an hour or two before Bailey decided that her hair was wild and that she would wash it in the puddle she is walking through. She could not possibly understand why I took her straight to the sink to wash out the hair that she had just washed. Silly girl!

Another fun part was the bicycle gang. I don't know the exact bike count, but they were everywhere. It was bicycle heaven and to a 3 year old you could just go back and forth forever.

  As soon as Bailey saw the inside of the cabin she was dead set on getting to sleep in a bunk bed.

 

Did you figure it out??? If you put all the bolded letters together, then you would know that we went camping.

 And here's the man behind it all- Trey Tull. He lured the Hill Country Camping Society with a trip out to Laity Lodge for some fancy-schmancy cabin camping, which because of the location attracted just shy of 70 people out. I know that may sound overwhelming, but about half of the 37 kids were school aged and self-sufficient. I kinda feel like I owe Trey's oldest daughter and one other girl out there some money for babysitting Bailey. By the way, that's him cooking stew that would feed all of us. Anyways, we had a great time and look forward to future trips out there.

So this is totally random, but the iphone is great. It's there when you forget your camera, your camera is broken, your camera batteries need charging or memory card is full or when you would miss the moment going to get your regular camera. So, here are the random snippets of our lives caught by the iphone.

Bailey loves to walk Blue, not sure how much Blue loves it.

Bailey is very expressive with her eyebrows and has been since she was very little. This would be her angry face, which doesn't mean she's angry. I would love to know what's going on in her head.

I love, love, love this picture. Bailey and Emmy munchin' down some carrots from our garden. I might have even see some unspoken competition between these girls and who could eat the most.

Bailey has always had a thing with being able to spot the letters P and X in places. She manipulates straws to make a very pointed P and is constantly looking at the sidewalk for crossed lines, which are of course are the letter x. Anyways, sure enough without any prompting the other day she drew a letter P, for Pa.

And the little misses is still quite the monkey. If you can't tell we LOVE our house. When ask why she was up there, she was "peeking at the neighbors and fixing the roof like Bob the builder".

Abby introduced us to dinosaurs, and well, Bailey likes anything Abby likes, so just recently we have welcomed a very small herd of dinosaurs to our house.

We are lovin these cool, but not too hot days and have been enjoying our sandbox. One of the places both Bailey and Blake like to play together.

Pat-a-Cake is a song we introduced to Blake not too long ago. Bailey likes to sing it to him if he's getting fussy in the car or just to interact with him, but she made one interesting change. She says, pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, Blakersman.  We think it's really cute.

Valentines Day pancakes!

Blake has so many nicknames- Blakey, Blakers, Little B, Bluke, Dimple, Stinker, Wrecking Crew, and most recently we started calling him The Blur. He is so busy moving these days that he is hard to capture without a blur in the photos. Anyways, he had a small fall off the steps on our patios and is now very cautious around them, hence he was sitting perfectly still and I caught this.

And lastly, CONGRATS to the Santo Ladycats on a Bi-District win on Tuesday night! Bailey and I rode the "fan bus" to the game for an adventure. It was kinda silly because we rode it with all the high school kids, but Bailey enjoyed not having to ride in a carseat, we passed out green beads, and she made friends with some boys whom she even sat with for awhile.

Fun Times in January

January was a busy month, hence not as many blog entries. Here's a re-cap of some of the fun times.

What better way to ring in the New Year than with a family slumber party with the Fosheas.

It was our third non-consecutive year to do this. To get every last ounce of energy out we ended the night with a dance party. Bailey thought it was so much fun that she wants to re-create it everytime we see the Fosheas.

We also went to 4 birthday parties!!!

Emmy turned 3 and had a princess party. Emmy was Belle and Bailey was Cinderella.

FIRE, FIRE... someone call fireman Oliver! Oliver turned 2 and as you might guess he had a fire fighter party.

Chelsie is so good about getting group kid shots.

Check out the fireman mustaches. Besides adults, these were the only two that really left them on.

Elijah also turned 2 and had a Winter Wonderland Party, but we didn't get any pictures despite the fact that there was an awesome ratio of adults to kids.

The 4th birthday party was Franny's and I probably shouldn't have told Bailey it a party after 3 weekend of kid parties, but it was a fun party in it's own right. We took Nana out to eat, then head back to our place for cake, and even a dance party. Bailey REALLY likes dance parties and Blake is even sporting his own moves- the up and down motion and side to side motion. He is so hard to video, but here's a glimpse.

I also helped throw a baby shower- congrats to Lisa and Keith on baby Levi born Feb 2nd and went to my cousin's wedding- hope you guys are enjoying the sunshine of Hawaii.

 

Maryann and Samuel's wedding was up in Dallas and this is what our vehicle looks like when we travel with Blue. To fit everything we also had to pack all around the kids carseats. We were loaded down! I think a more functional vehicle is in our near future.

I just had to capture this sweet moment as we traveled to the wedding between Blake and Bailey. They held hands for about 10 minutes because as Bailey said "Holding hands is what friends do and Blake wants to be my friend".

And as always, when we are at my parents we went exploring. This time we took about and hour and a half walk down the train track that is right by their place. If the amount dirtiness equals the amount of fun we had, then we had a blast even if we ruined a pair of jeans and Blue still smells like a skunk.

Luke also squeezed in a weekend at the ranch with some of his boys. "The Weekend to Remember" was full of all kinds of hunting and processing of meat. Meanwhile, I wrangled the kids, literally.

Not sure what it is about this age and the appeal of a dishwasher, but this little guys can't resist. What's a mommy without little helpers though.

And you gotta love self feeding because it means progress and that eventually they will feed themselves. One day when Luke was gone Blake was so dirty that I just stuck him in the sink. Not to be outdone, Bailey was right next to him in the other sink.

We also spent hours in the swing. Something Bailey also loved. 

 Still looking forward to the slower days of spring.
