Our New Pet

Yesterday was one of those days that I finally said yes to what I thought was one of Bailey's crazy plans. She has been wanting to go down to the Quarries to catch a turtle. Her plan was to use some bread as bait to lure them close to the shore and she would quick as lighting catch it with her net. I did not think it would work and couldn't believe it when she caught two turtles!!! She ask if we could keep the first one and I said it was too big, but I told her if she could catch a small one we could. Sure enough she caught a small one and thus we have a new pet. Her name is Princess Perfawna.

This was the first one she caught.

And here's Perfawna. I have no idea how she came up with that name???

July Update

July, and the summer for that matter, are going by way too fast and I am going to try to re-cap some of what we have been up to so it doesn't seem like a blur.

Swimming, LOTS of Swimming

Both Bailey & Blake did swim lessons at the Y and here are a few pictures I snapped.

Blake had a lot of fun! This was one of his favorite things to do.

Bailey made leaps and bounds in her class working on using her arms and proper breathing. This isn't the best video of her breathing, but it does show her using her arms.

And not to leave out our littlest, this is a video of "No Fear" Blair going down the slide at the Y. Blake goes on the right, then Emmy on the left, followed by Blair on the right. Everyone who sees her do this can't believe she is only one & a half.

My mom just came down for a few days and took the kids to a waterpark in Round Rock that I had no idea existed. We will definitely be heading back there!

And here's one with our neighborhood fellowship friends at the Balcones Woods pool.

And Cannon Balls!

 Reading

Bailey wanted to read 100 books this summer, which meant that I was going to read her 100 books this summer. We just finished and got to go pick out our free book from the library!

Art in the Park

We spent a fun morning with these friends listening to some music, getting faces painted and pizza lunch.

Bailey the lion.

Blake the dragon.

Where's Waldo?

Austin hosted a local "Find Waldo" activity for the kids and made for an easy post-dinner activity.

Colt

We got to visit with the Penny family one Sunday afternoon. Blair had just woken up hence the seriousness.

Mayfield Park

The kids loved going to this park and seeing the peacocks upclose.

It was so hard not to chase them and this one wanted to ensure it was safe so it headed to the roof.

Some Rain Day Fun

I can't believe how much rain we got in July! Gigi sent us this little Science experiment and who knew you could grow rocks? It was perfect for a rainy day activity.

You just put the rocks in the magic solution and

watch them grow.

I know there's more, but this will have to do for now.

Luke and I just got back from our Anniversary trip and Bailey starts Kindergarten in 2 weeks so more fun blog posts to come!

A Fabulous Fourth

We don't always get to spend July 4th with my family, but it was part of my mom's birthday present again this year and what a fabulous fourth we had!

July 4th started bright and early with a short road trip to Granbury to meet up with all my parents & siblings for some parade watching, a big lunch, and some shopping on the square.

Blake & Pa

Blake & Uncle Andrew

Right after this picture Blair scared me to death by wandering across the street ~15 feet. Thankfully the street was closed off to traffic for the parade, but still.

The Penny family!

Cousin Colt

A few pictures from the parade.

Waving to the floats. After her trip across the street she stayed strapped in.

Almost everyone.

All my B's loved having Colt time!

Bailey & Gigi

Face Painting

Then it was back to Santo for a short quiet time/cool off. Thanks Gigi for the patriotic suits!

Then we headed off to Weatherford for dinner.

This part of my post is dedicated to my brother Andrew and his ever-growing animal collection.

New additions include, Pumpkin the pig.

And Bucky the deer.

And it's always fun to see the chickens.

Bailey was trying to catch one.

She will have to learn from the master, Andrew.

Singing happy birthday to Gigi!

The boy cousins.

For fireworks, we headed over to the Morris's house (a college friend of my dads).

Tori & Blair

Blair liked the fireworks once she got used to them.

Bailey found her a good spot on top of the van.

One of Tor-Tor.

Happy Birthday America!

Paddleboarding Extravaganza

My neighbor calls me one night and says to meet her at the Quarries if we want to see her sister try to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the Most People to Paddleboard On A Single Paddleboard at Once or if we just want to see them & paddleboard for free. We immediately stopped bathtime and started walking!

Meet Amanda & her little girl Trinity (or Trily as Blakers calls her)

Anyways, it's was Amanda's sisters birthday and they brought in this custom paddleboard and had to get more than 35 people on it to break the previous record and they did! Birthday girl Ally is the one in the back with the hat!

Bailey has been wanting to paddleboard for a long time, so I jumped at the chance to take her out!

Trinity's dad took Blake out.

Luke eventually got out there work clothes and all.

I love this one of Amanda. She looks so relaxed laying down.

What a fun night out with neighbor friends and congrats to Ally for breaking a Guiness Book World Record!
