Bailey-
This last year you got to listen to
the first 3 Harry Potter books and LOVED them! You liked it so much that you
even switched last minute from being a Pokemon Trainer for Halloween to Harry
Potter and what’s funny is Mia did also! Besides just liking Harry Potter, the
reason we chose your ornament for you is that Harry was naturally gifted at
being a seeker in Quittich and this last year you proved to be naturally gifted
at the breast stroke. You couldn’t even swim that stroke last year, but to our
surprise and delight you placed 3rd out of all the 7 & 8 year
olds in our league!!! It is a JOY to watch you swim even though you are a
muggle. We love you Bailey girl!

Blake-
Not much has changed in your
interests since last year and you knew November 1st, 2015 that you
wanted to be a storm trooper for Halloween 2016 and that never changed. Star
Wars is your favorite Lego building activity and your favorite movie to watch,
so your ornament choice was easy- a storm trooper. What I like about Star Wars
is that it always makes me think about the battle of good & evil in the
real world. When Obi Wan Kenobi was training Luke he encouraged him to “use the
force” and we want to encourage you to use the force too- Jesus’s force, the
Holy Spirit. It can lead, guide, & direct you! We love you bud &
remember that the force is strong in you!

Blair-
What a big year you have had! You
made the swim team as the youngest girl and was able to swim the free style and
back stroke at CHAMPS. You also moved from our neighborhood preschool to Austin
Classical School, which put you on the big kid’s schedule with longer days. And
just two weeks ago you turned 5 years old! Your favorite activity this last
year has been Paw Patrol and your favorite Paw Patrol character is Chase! It was what you wanted to be for Halloween and
what you wanted as the theme for your birthday party, so it was easy to pick
out your ornament. We like the theme song for Paw Patrol- “No job is too big
& no pup is too small! Paw Patrol, we’re on a roll!” Blair, remember that
as you tackle big things this next year- that no job is too big and you aren’t
too small to do big things!! People used
to say that about you and swimming this last year- she is small, but fierce! We
love you Blair Bear!

Mom & Dad
Beau-
There are two things that stick out
in my mind as I reflect on this last year & you- how much your speech has
improved and how early you wake up! We have loved watching you communicate
better this year and say more & more words and speak longer & longer
sentences. One of our favorite Beau sayings is that you call us “Mommy Bar”
& “Daddy Bar” instead of Mommy Bear & Daddy Bear. So sweet! You are also
hands-down our earliest riser in the morning and we honestly wish we could
reset your clock. We thought you woke up early, like 5:30/5:45 before the time
change and then you showed us! After “Fall Back”, it was not abnormal for you
to be up as early as 4:30 and WOWZERS that’s early. For you, it’s just “morning
wake up time”. That does mean that you get either mommy or daddy attention
during that time, but you are such an active, independent kiddo that it means
we have to keep an eye on you! You like to get your own breakfast, which means
that many a bag of cereal has been spilled or you have used scissors to open up
some snacks. We also remember after Bailey’s birthday party & Halloween
that you came downstairs on your own and helped yourself to candy. Right before
Thanksgiving, this year was the first time you slept till 7:30 in your life,
which we were VERY thankful for. Also, because you wake up so early you want
your nap early, which is not a normal naptime so I can’t tell you all the
places you have fallen asleep- at the top of the stairs, in the couch, and
always in the carseat after carpool. We love you, Beau and picked out a clock
for your ornament to remember all those early mornings with you.
Love,
Mom & Dad
