Moses Boys Reunion in Chicago

Written 1/11/12

When Bailey was exactly 6 weeks old, we took her on her first airplane ride to meet up with some of Luke's college buddies in Chicago. Sean & Harmony were living up there at the time and it was perfect for a reunion as it had probably been 4 years since all of the boys had been together. Looking back I can't believe we did that and I can only shake my head at how easy of a baby Bailey was. Thankfully, she was and we enjoyed a great trip catching up with old friends.

This was taken on the airplane of Bailey sucking on Luke's pinky finger. She definitely took a pacifier at this point, but this must have worked for the time being.

Not exactly sure where we were, but I have always liked this picture and I know it was close to the University of Chicago where Harmony was getting her Masters Degree.

There was lots of silly moments.

Harmony holding Bailey.

The bean.

Here's most of the gang, minus Brandon who was taking the picture.

There was LOTS of walking.

It was really cold (to a Texan) so we kept Bailey bundled up!

Luke & Mike.

I can't remember why Walt wasn't there at first, but he joined us a day or two late. Here he is meeting Bailey.

Bailey's first trip to the zoo.

Where's Luke???

At the time I was wondering when and if I was going to get my brain back. Sadly, I haven't.

Wrigley Field, obviously.

Jose was the baby whisperer of the trip. He is so good with babies! Bailey just sacked out on him.

This was a funny moment when Mike, Harmony, and I had just gotten done doing the superman dance in the middle of the street and I think we were showing off our best pouty face???

Good times!!!

Birth & Coming Home Pictures

You can read Bailey's birth story here:

Here are the hospital & coming home pictures:

Lots of family visitors since we had miss Bailey so close to home.

Bailey had surgery when she was 24 hours old to remove a tissue growth on her bottom gum ridge. When the nurses first handed me Bailey seconds after she was born, they tried to prep me that something was wrong in her mouth. All I remember thinking was "just give me my baby and that no matter what could possibly be wrong that she was perfect in my mind". There was lots of waiting around until visiting time at the NICU.

She ended up getting jaundice due to the fact that it was hard to get her to eat with a sore mouth and stitches.

I remember her looking like a giant in the NICU, especially since she was all puffy and swollen in the face.

This is my attempt at a picture of Bailey's stitches.

Tori & my mom went to buy me some new clothes since I didn't bring any with me because I was NOT going to have the baby on our quick roadtrip.

Bailey taking a bottle, which was a requirement for leaving the hospital (successful bottle or breast feeding).

Luke & I are actually thankful we had her in Fort Worth because a children's hospital was attached to Harris Methodist hospital, so I stayed at the hospital too while she recovered. if we had been in Austin I would have been discharged and had to travel back & forth to Dell Children's hospital. And here is the whole reason we were in Fort Worth. : )
