4th of July Weekend

Two birthday and a holiday made the 4th of July a very fun, but busy weekend.

Uncle Fun's 29th Birthday!!! So the story behind Uncle Fun is that Robby always seem to rescue Bailey from unfun things that her mom is having her do, like trying to take a nap or going to sleep. Also, Robby is really good at finding ways to make Bailey laugh. Now it would only make sense that Tara is Aunt Fun because she is married to Uncle Fun. Aunt Fun likes to wear really big bracelets that Bailey loves playing with and feeds Bailey sweet things that she is not suppossed to have, like ice cream. In Tara's defense Bailey was being unusually fussy at the birthday party and the ice cream made her stop crying, so it made sense to give it to her.

Who has a pinata at their 29th birthday party? Robby. He had to open it to get his present.

Aunt Tori With Bailey. So after hearing Aunt Tara has a special name, Tori says "FINE, then I am Aunt-i Awesome" in response to Robby and Tara's self titled Aunt & Uncle Fun. Aunt-i Awesome should be pronounced Aunt I Awesome to sound like Aren't I Awesome. Uncle Andrew and Uncle Kyle & Aunt Ali- What adjective or noun would you like?

Keep Austin Weird 5K

Pre Race:

Our pre-race strategy was to eat snowcones and pose for a photo. And yes, that's Mike in a suit in 100 degree weather.

Big T, little t

Big T, Little T. What begins with t? Two teeth that have come through. T, t, T. You know you have been reading too much Dr. Suess when you start coming up with your own rhymes. Anyways, both of Bailey's top front teeth have come in!!! One of them has just been sitting under her gum bothering her for a couple of weeks now, and we are both glad that is now behind us. The teeth count is now at 4!

No pictures with the front teeth yet, but I thought this was a cute one where you can see her bottom teeth.

Besides getting teeth, Bailey has been quite the helper:

Bailey is fascinated with the dishwasher and loves to help me put up the dishes. Being the sweet girl that she is, she decided to dry off the door with her pajamas.

She also points out to Blue (our dog) where she has spit up so that Blue can clean it up. Gross I know.

Here she is helping me take care of the laundry.

If I can only get her to be such a sweet helper when she is a teenager...ha ha.

I thought this would be fun to do because we are always getting the questions like "Who does Bailey look like?" or "Who do we think she looks like?". Our answer has always been that we think she is a good mixture of us. The website myheritage.com claims she looks more like me (Melissa), but just barely. You be the judge.

9 Months Old

Bailey had her 9 month check up (with shots) today. Here are her stats:

Height: 27 inches (30th percentile)

Weight: 15 lbs 7 ozs (5th percentile)

Head Circumference: 43 inches (30th percentile)

So basically Bailey is a small baby. The doctor said she is the size of a 6 month old. She is doing all the things on the pediatrician's checklist, which is crawling, pulling herself up from sitting, cruising, saying mamama, dadada, and bababa. She is also a great eater and sleeper.

Bailey got a swing this weekend and loves it!!

Better Late Than Never

We finally have a blog! Why, you may ask now? Well I wish I could say that it was because I had a lot of important things to say, but really the answer is that I wanted an easy way for long distance friends and family to stay connected with us. Hope you enjoy!

Here are some fun memories from the last few months:

Back in January Luke's dad and his wife, Robert and Cleo, took us to the Denver Rodeo. Grandpa Robert is great at getting Bailey to laugh!

Joel, Katie, and Emmy Foshea (far left); Kyle, Alison, and Owen Mezger; and Luke, Melissa, and Bailey. Luke brother Kyle was in Austin for a job interview this past April. He got the job and they will be moving to Austin next July.

Uncle Rob and Aunt Tara with Bailey in her new playroom! Our house is finished being remodeled and we have moved in. It is so nice to be in central Austin again!

Our little Aggie. So, for all you Aggies out there... I think Luke and I figured out that she would be the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 2030, Whoop!

Holden Beach Trip

Two of the things that I love about my sister-in-law is that she shares my love of trips and can appreciate my organizational side. Let me explain: she organized a trip to Holden Beach, NC for any of their closest friends who could/wanted to come, plus she some how single handedly cooked, prepared, and froze meals for a week and found us the sweetest beach house for the group. It is probably the best vacation I have ever taken and now hold all trips/vacations to this standard. We are working our back to including all these on a trip: regular game nights of strategy games and 4 on the couch, reading (and finishing the whole book), relaxed time on the beach, free time, surfing, napping, bocce ball playing, kite flying, and sand castle building.

And here she is crawling. She would only army-ooch before this, but the sand was rough on her tummy and legs and up she went. Go B!

What a great week!

Moving into our New House!!!

Written 1/13/12

Our new house was finished being re-modeled and it was time to move in! Here was the apartment we lived in during construction and was Bailey's first home.

This was me 9 months pregnant with Bailey right after moving in.

And this was Bailey's part of our room. I didn't see any reason to set up a nursery for such a tight space.

Here is the new house- 3908 Idlewild. Yeah for Bailey getting her own bedroom & a playroom, yeah for a guest bedroom, and yeah for an out-of-the-way home office (so that I wasn't tempted to distract Luke from working)!!!

I remember having the most amazing moving crew a.k.a. our old small group.
