Baby Dedication

Last Sunday we dedicated Bailey and Blake at church.

For Bailey's life verse we chose Matthew 6:19-21, which says "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

For Blake we chose Romans 12:1-2, which says "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

Here we are dedicating Blake.

These were the 2 questions we were ask before the congregation:

Do you today recognize these children as gifts from God and give heartfelt thanks for God’s blessing?

Do you now dedicate your children to the Lord who gave them to you, surrendering all worldly claims upon their lives and entrusting them wholly to God?

I think I am going to print out a copy of these to put on my nightstand as a daily reminder of who they belong to, to surrender worldly claims on their lives, and to entrust them to God.
