Thoughts about this pregnancy:
I keep saying that this pregnancy has been the hardest, but just the other day I went back to some of my past blog posts to put memories in place with the other pregnancies just to be sure.
At 32 weeks:
with Bailey I was near the end of teaching summer school for 5th grade Math,
with Blake we were in Costa Rica on a babymoon, and
with Blair we had just gotten back from a trip to Port A with the other Mezgers & Franny and we were about to have Bailey & Owen's joint 4th birthday party.
Yep, I do believe that this one has indeed been the hardest. Usually I have this awesome 2nd trimester with energy and great sleep, but not this time. I definitely would also say that this has been harder physically even though my back has never handled the third trimester belly well. I do remember taking a lot of baths with Blake to help with back pain, but the combination of back pain, cramping, and Braxton Hicks have been far worse this time and started way earlier. Even the Braxton Hicks this time kinda make me feel better about delivering Bailey in Fort Worth because they can get pretty intense. I feel like I am constantly trying to maintain a balance of not sitting too much, not standing too much, drinking enough water, not carrying Blair or picking up Blake, not getting stressed, and laying down with feet elevated before it gets too bad. It can stress me out just thinking about keeping all those in balance, but I am absolutely doing better than in December.
Things I don't want to forget:
*It feels like I am carrying this baby lower than the others, but that could also just be the result of this being my 4th.
*This one is probably my most active baby.
*The waves in my hair came back! The top part of my hair got straighter when I was pregnant with Blair, but the waves are back for an easy hair day.
*I crave sugar like I never have before- dark chocolate, sugar candy, sugar cereal, Honey Vanilla Greek yogurt, milk shakes, fruits...I might have a problem in this area.
*I had a really long stretch where I would sleep from 9 pm -5 am, but now it is more like 9:30-2, maybe 3 or 4 if I am lucky. I promise I don't need any practice for the sleep deprivation stage, but if you see me dragging in the mornings or running around crazy, now you know I might have been up for like 5 hours or if I am lucky was up for 3 hours, got some more sleep, but then was rushing because I woke up with the kids.
*I hate how easily I can cry when I am pregnant, but this has been the case for all 4.
*My sister Tara had an amazing pregnancy wardrobe with Colt that she has shared and I actually feel like I have clothes for a preggo. Thanks sis!
On to nesting:
When we re-did the floors this summer, we knew at some point that we wanted to paint the cabinets to match the floors better. Well, I just happened to be looking at our calendar and realized that we have something biggish every weekend until baby comes. I ask Luke if he wanted to get this done now before baby or put it off for another year and I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
It was such a quick decision that we picked out the paint color in 20 minutes on Friday during Luke's lunch break and Saturday morning I ran to grab the camera to get before and after shots as Luke was taking the cabinets down.
Trying to show the redness of the cabinets against the grayness of the floors.
All the taping off so that he could use his airless paint sprayer.
For the kitchen he put up plastic to help with the paint dust. What a guy!
The sneak peek.
This was the backyard set-up of how he painted the cabinet doors.
Ta-Da!
As fun as it is to have newly painted cabinets, getting organized has been more of what nesting has looked like this time. And after getting our Spring calendar all organized I started looking at our summer calendar and getting somewhat of a game plan for life with 4 active kids. Not sure this makes the day-to-day easier, but helps me not feel overwhelmed.
Only 7 weeks (or less) left!

This is definitely not making me look forward to the 3rd trimester. Home stretch, girlfriend! And btw, I am totally impressed by the cabinets!!
