Fall Break

We had one day in between when we got back from Garner and when we headed out for the second part of our Fall Break adventures, which was a trip up to Santo/Weatherford. We spent our time visiting everyone, celebrating Andrew's birthday, seeing the new pharmacies, taking pumpkin pictures, & playing with the cousins. It was a great finale to Fall Break!

Blair- tell us how you feel about taking pictures.

We haven't made it to a pumpkin patch yet this year, so this was it!

Blake is such a hard worker and helped Gigi & I unload the rest of the pumpkins that needed to get displayed.

More pumpkin pictures-

Because I don't get out from behind the camera enough & I don't have many pictures with my brother. 

Gigi wanted a picture with all the grandkids before Andrew's birthday dinner. It was alot like herding cats.

Meanwhile, back at Santo...

Blake collected a fairly large amount of feathers and wanted to make a pillow. Note that he did not collect the type of feather you usually put in a pillow, so thank you Gigi for putting some extra stuffing in the pillow AND for sewing it!

 

Next we had a cousin photoshoot and it was almost comical. The photographer was running 38 minutes late. It wouldn't have been an issue except that some of the kids were done with being there by the time it was picture time. Colt was immediately crying and just wanted Gigi to hold him. While Gigi was holding him Caroline wanted to get off the platform we were taking photos on, which is what allowed us to get Mezger photos. Caroline wanted dada. Once everyone was settled down, then we tried putting everyone back in and the 5 adults (photographer, myself, Gigi, and Tara's 2 helpers) tried everything to get them to smile. Colt let go of Gigi for a few seconds, which is how we got the 2nd photo below. After that one of the things that we tried was snacks and it was all over for Beau at that point. He wanted to eat and was crying and done with pictures. So two of us would jump in and feed Beau & Caroline and then jump out to see if we could get anything. Gigi had also hopped in the pictures so that Colt would be happy, which was not expected. In the last 2 minutes Blair decided she wanted Gigi also and was done. No more words necessary on the last photo. I did take a video of the scene for memory sake. 

We did get a great Mezger photo, but no cousin photo.

Fall Break always comes at the right time during ACS when a quick breather is much needed. Now to buckle down until Thanksgiving, then Christmas...it is going to go fast!
