going on a bear hunt,
we're going to catch a big one,
what a beautiful day,
we're not scared.
My kids LOVE this book and so it was time to go on a real bear hunt! We put on our rain boots in preparation for splashing in the water & Bailey put on her super B cape (thanks Aunt Ali) and grabbed her binoculars to help her be a good hunter. Thankfully the Hyde Park Quarries are right around the corner, which was perfect for our bear hunt! Check us out:
Long wavy grass
A deep, cold lake
Thick, oozy mud
A big, dark forest
A swirling, whirling snowstorm
(I improvised here and put cotton balls on the trampoline and let them eat snowcones to cool down from the walk)
A narrow, gloomy cave
And of course, the bear chased us into the bedroom, into the bed, under the covers....WE'RE PROBABLY GOING ON ANOTHER BEAR HUNT AGAIN. THAT WAS SO FUN!
And here's our collection from each stop, except the gummi bears found at the last stop, which are in two tummies.

Love it! We love that book too, but I know there is NO WAY I could ever convince Abe to actually go on one. He'd be terrified that we might actually find one.
