An Egg-cellent Easter

Couldn't help myself with the title, but we really did have an egg-cellent time. Okay, I am done, I promise!

My parent's place has great photo opportunities, so I of course got some of the kids before church.

Starting with the youngest for her 2nd Easter.

Next, our Blakers who we momentarily got to wear khaki pants (instead of jeans, which he loves too much) and a tie.

And on to the oldest, Miss Bailey, who was an egg hunting & cascarones cracking pro this year.

Oh, and I did get one of all of them, but it looked like this- silly kids!

Luke & I have such fond memories of Easter growing up and it's fun to pass some of both sides on to the kids. Last year all of us that were healthy spent Easter with Franny, so this year we made the road trip up to Santo.

Before I get to the egg hunt, I do have a funny story from church. We had been doing the Resurrection Eggs with Bailey & Blake and sorta hammered in two phrases- "Hosana! Jesus is King!" for palm Sunday and then "He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!" leading up to Easter Sunday. So sweet Blakers during church when he heard "Hosana" repeated pretty loudly back to the preacher "Jesus is King!" and the preacher said "Jesus is King" and Blake repeated "Jesus is King". Encouraged my the giggles on our row from Luke, Tori, and I, he continued to repeat key phrases sporadically "King of the Jews!", "He is Risen indeed!" back to the preacher. Too bad it was a more charasmatic pastor who would have recieved affirmation from Blake with the audience participation. Anyways, it was cute and I was sorta impressed with how much he paid attention to the sermon.

Back at home we miracuously all (meaning Gigi included) sat down at one table for lunch and then with belly's full we headed outside to work off some of the calories in the egg hunts.

Here's Gigi with her girls.

This was the kid's egg hunting start line.

Loved this one of Bailey after she heard the GO!

Blake wasn't far behind, but wasn't quite running like Bailey.

And Blair did get some eggs, but she also took some breaks to try to figure out how to open the eggs.

Cascarones!!!

Yes, we still get to be kids and race for money. Thanks mom!

And congrats to Luke who won got the most money eggs and to Rob who got the most candy.

We are so thankful for Easter and for Christ and all He did for us. I am not sure if I will ever entirely grasp the extent of that, but I am SO grateful that he chose me to be a part of his kingdom and to represent him here on earth.

“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him." Mark 16:6

He is Risen! He is Risen, indeed!

We hope you and your families had a blessed Easter as well.
