Sick of Being Sick & the Lost Tooth

I don't mean to complain but, I am SO sick of being sick!

 

This picture may not look that bad, but for me it meant almost a week of cancelled plans.

 

I am SO ready for us to be healthy for longer than a few weeks. In the last month we have added hand, foot & mouth disease (seen above), two rounds of something really gross, and yet ANOTHER stomach bug to the ever growing list of ailments that have gone through our household. I would never have thought of us as the sick family, until I listened to my friend describe us that way, but I sadly agree.

On the other hand, our trip to the dentist today was kinda cool as Bailey lost her first tooth. Yesterday Bailey told me that there was something really wrong with one of her front teeth and ask me to help her fix it. When I looked in her mouth I saw that what was bothering her was a new tooth coming in!?!?! I didn't even know that was possible (adult teeth coming in behind baby teeth as opposed to underneath them). Unfortunately for Bailey, when they removed a tissue bulb on her gum ridge when she was born they disturb the gum tissue, which resulted in one of her adult teeth coming in before her baby tooth was even loose. Thankfully, they warned me in the hospital that this could happen. I haven't taken too many pictures of Bailey yet as she is still feeling some of the effects of the laughing gas/numbing medicine from the extraction, but she did want to show off her tooth (on the pink part of the pillow).

 

If you look right behind the hole, you can see the new tooth that is almost all the way through.
