A Dino-Mite First Birthday!

This past Saturday we celebrated Blake's first birthday. His birthday was really last two Wednesdays ago (10 days), but we had a camping trip on the calendar already so this was the weekend that worked. We picked the Austin Science and Nature Center, specifically the dino pit and picnic area for the birthday fun and since I like (correction love) themes we did lots with dinosuars for the decorations. It was prefect weather in the shade, a little hot in the midday sun, but we still managed to have a lot of fun!

Here's the invitation.

And the birthday boy! Lots of open space to run free and run off as mommy and daddy were setting up.

Everyone Got Buckets, Digging Tools, and Some Dino Skeletons

Happy Birthday!

Being a very neat little boy with his birthday cake.

Distracted by the dinosaur decorations. Bailey has taught him to roar, which he is doing in the picture.

After pizza and cake we headed down to the dino pit.

Digging Fun!

Owenosaurus

Elijahosaurus

Elijah with Nathanosaurus

Emmyosaurus. She had found one of the dino eggs that I had hidden.

Blakeosaurus. Walking on sand is hard business!

Rebeccaosaurus

Baileyosaurus- at this point she was hot and tired and resting with Rex. So if you watched the video where Bailey was on a dinosaur hunt with my parents, I am happy to report that there has been a huge improvement in dinosaur hunting skills. Of the 20 dinosaurs and 6 dinosaur eggs that I hid in the dino pit, we went home with 13 dinosaurs and 4 eggs.

Apparently Joel and Luke need to call each other before showing up at the same place in the future. : )

Happy birthday Blake. We love you and you better stop growing up so fast!
