Future Pharmacist???

Check out pharmacist Bailey in one of my dad's old smocks.

Counting beans with her "spatchoola" and tray.

Putting them in the vial. She eventually learned how to do it without spilling.

Coloring labels.

She did all this for just shy of an hour. That must be a record for how long Bailey's attention span has lasted.

Mommy with her little pharmacist.

During one of my last semesters at A&M I had to make a play station for an Early Childhood to Kindergarten classroom that had an occupation theme. For my occupation I chose pharmacy because I could get my hands on all kinds of goodies from my dad. I only got to use it a handful of times because I ended up teaching 5th grade, so I have looked forward to when I had kids and could use it with them. We have lugged the box picture below all over Austin in our moves, but I think Luke finally saw it's value. It has a pharmacist's smock, name tag, pill vials, liquid vials, measuring cup, beans for pills, labels for the vials, warning labels, and activity cards.

One funny thing: As we were pretending, we talked about Pa and Tara being pharmacists and how mommy is a pharmacy tech. Bailey insisted that Pa and mommy did the counting of pills and labels while Tara passed out the suckers to kids like Bailey. You have her trained Tara!
