Christmas with Luke's side of the family was on the Saturday before Christmas due to a trip Franny was going to take to Guatemala (but didn't end up going on) & Kyle's work schedule based on Franny taking that trip. It worked out perfect since this was our year to spend Christmas Day with the Tacketts and we were leaving on Sunday. It was a great morning & lunch with ALL of Luke's family, even Grandpa Robert who we love getting to see more and more of since he is back in Texas.
Of course we started with gifts. I was really excited & nervous to give this to the Mezger cousins because of it's size, but opted for one nice big gift instead of 3 smaller gifts. We went ahead and put it together and delivered it as part of the gift. While Luke was putting it together, Bailey ask why Luke was putting it together for Uncle Kyle and Blake answered with "Well, Uncle Kyle is a doctor, not a builder". For the record, we all know that Kyle can put things together, but since time is so precious Luke did it for him. I cut the pieces of the box up into a puzzle that we had Owen put together before they could go find it in the garage.
I was glad the kids had fun on it!
My favorite memory from this day was watching the four oldest cousins play together so well. Blair and Maggie will warm up to each other in time, but Bailey and Owen played with some small wooden airplanes and Blake and Rebecca played on the seesaw for an extended amount of time. It was really, really, really, really nice.
A few other pictures with gifts that I snapped that morning-
This was Owen's gift that everyone enjoyed. Blake's I love you sign.
Luke's profile.
Blake could do this for hours.
After gift opening, Grandpa Robert arrived and all the kids enjoyed some time with him. Blair was a little shy at first then warmed right up.
Grandpa brought a little show and tell.
A few family shots I got-

Grandpa brought us wood, so once it was naptime we headed to our house to unload it. I loved watching Blake copy & help his dad and grandpa. Both Luke & Grandpa had on gloves, so Blake went to get my cleaning gloves, which he used to be just like them. It was so cute!
And now we just need cooler weather.
Christmas #1 Down.
